This is a very busy location, and as a chain coffee shop, you can expect the same service as all other Starbucks. The baristas are very quick, friendly and prompt. The store is clean, and all amenities are well provided. I have been here several times, and it is a great place to either grab a cup and go, or sit and sip on your beverage while reading or studying, or simply people watching. I do really like this location.

Starbucks is not easy to find here in NOLA! This is the first and the only Starbucks I visited during my Weekend in New Orleans. I know there are more interesting places to chill out like going to the bar up the street to have a beer and using the WIFI... But Starbucks here is definitely a lot more spacious and have a great outdoor patio area on the side. Great location to just hang out and take a quick coffee break or stay for awhile to do some Internet surfing!

I love coming here. Parking is in the back. Plenty of places to sit. I like that it is a reserve store. They have reserve coffee that are not available at regular starbucks.

This is probably one of the biggest Starbucks in the area. It has great seating inside (couches, chairs, benches) and outside. You can park on Magazine street (pay to park) or you might find some free spots around the corner on the street or in the back lot.

I don't usually have coffee at Starbucks but when i do, I make sure it's Reserve beans on a Clover machine. Stay thirsty, my friend! (apparently this is the only Starbucks in the state with a Clover machine. Google it and try it, you will be addicted. Columbia beans are great and a good value)

I love to sit and do homework at Starbucks but for some reason whenever the place fills up with students they turn the air way down till we all freeze out, almost like they are sending us a non verbal message to GET OUT. I would prefer just about any other location because of this. When I go there because it is close to my house, I am sitting in the corner with the other students fully dressed for winter when it's 70 outside.

Rating a Starbucks is not easy breezy. There is a Starbucks scale, and there is a NOLA java scale. I will combine the two into one. I would prefer other local coffee places to Starbucks (three stars on NOLA java scale), but out of all the Starbucks(es?) in the area, this is my number one favorite (5 stars on Starbucks scale)! I do love their hot sandwiches, especially on the go for Bfast, as well as their coffee frapps. The service is always quick and pleasant. There is some parking behind the building (wohoo!). I average the two to make it four stars. And they all lived caffeinatedly ever after!

I can park and get coffee usually under 5 minutes here, which is a plus, as it's out of my way driving to work.

Love Starbucks!!! Wished their prices were lower, but other than that...I love it. The one on Magazine St/New Orleans is excellent!

While I typically prefer local coffee shops, I enjoy coming to this Starbucks from time to time. It's always reliable, great location, the hours are better than many local joints, accepts credit cards, and the service is very friendly. Plenty of study space.. I like the area that's tucked away from the main coffee counter. Clean bathrooms (important when you are guzzling coffee all day)... The only complaint I have is that the music gets really loud sometimes. Bring your own headphones, and you can block it out.

Definitely a fan of this Starbucks. This is probably the largest Starbucks I've been to in New Orleans or New York or anywhere else for that matter. This Starbucks has a decent sized outdoor seating area perfect for enjoying your coffee while watching life go by on Magazine. The inside has a multitude of seating options. I like it in the back of the store where it is a bit quieter for getting work done. Service is pretty quick and efficient although not very friendly, And I regularly frequent here. Decent selection of sandwiches and pastries, but then again why eat this over priced crap when you have a plethora of high quality eateries up and down Magazine Street. Stick to the coffee and the great location this Starbucks has to offer...

LOVE IT OR HATE IT This coffee shop is one of New Orleans larger locations. Eventhough there were only two baristas behind the counter, our order was quickly filled in a most reasonable time. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Public restrooms are clean and not abused. Patrons seemed very respectful and no loud blaring music. Not sure it can get any better elsewhere.

Located on the intersection at Magazine and Washington is this great Starbucks location. Being on the intersection, there are plenty of parking options available through out your visit there. The line is always 10+ people long, no matter what time I go but they usually manage to go through it pretty quickly, which is nice. On my last visit, I wanted to try the Gingerbread Latte and I had a free birthday drink, so when I placed my order I requested both of those, the woman who took my order "okayed" it and along I went. I paid with a different guy who ended up charging me for the drink which was supposed to free, I explained that I told the other woman it was meant to be the free birthday special but he just laughed and said "you have to tell me, not her". Well, she's the one that took my order so she should've been the one to put me through the register too. So that was annoying, they just had no communication between the staff members and how he shrugged it off was irritating. Anyways, I got my Gingerbread Latte and took a seat. Now this place is always busy so don't expect your ideal seating if you come too late in the day. I ended up moving three times as new, more preferred places to sit became available. The downside to the seating is that there aren't many powerpoint available and Starbucks has to know that people come to work here while they drink their coffee. Not a clever move. The Gingerbread Latte was just okay. It didn't taste like gingerbread at all so I was pretty disappointed but I managed to finish it off despite the lack of taste. There is a wide variety of seating inside with wall seating, tabled seating, and a few couch seating, which is nice. There is also outdoor seating but during this weather, it isn't recommended but would give you views of the street which is a nice distraction from the hustle and bustle from inside. Overall, a beautiful location but the lack of communication and consideration the staff have between themselves and the customers made the visit spoiled.

Staff is horrible. I actually got into a back and forth with one of the staff. She was very disrespectful. She pointed both of her middle fingers at me. I was nothing but nice. Will never go back.

Busy store, but they move quickly. Lots of seating and a small parking lot in the back. I'm always amazed at how many staff members they have on duty at one time, but I will say that the morning rush here can easily have a line of folks from the counter toward the back door (easily 15-20 deep), and I'll still have my latte in my hand in less than 10 minutes. I appreciate that about this store. I think that the weekday morning crew is uber efficient, but I will say that I'm not as big a fan of some of the weekend crew. More often than not, my drink is made wrong on the weekends... when it's slower. Go figure. Either way, the morning crew keeps me coming back. We joke around, they have a TON of regulars, plenty of seating, and the parking lot in the back makes all the difference.

I only come here, because my mom gives me free gift cards that she gets. Good Lord, the music in here is so DAMN LOUD. For the most part, the line moves quickly. So, they get a couple of stars for that. Want to escape outside? Get ready to get hassled by panhandlers. Also--tourist central. Enter at your own risk.

I doubt this review would ever be a candidate for a Review of the Day, but who knows, there's always a first time for anything, right? In any case, while visiting my former college roommate in the Irish Channel last month, I was comforted to see this Starbucks a couple of blocks away on Washington and Magazine Street. Surprisingly, I found locating Starbuckses, in general, to be difficult in New Orleans, especially considering that there are tons of really nice cafes and independently owned joints in the French Quarter and along Magazine Street. This particular Starbucks, however, served as a convenient road marker to know that I was on track to finding the St. Charles trolley a couple more blocks down on Washington Street. I ended up taking a small detour here while walking to the trolley in the late morning on a weekday, only to find that the place was full of people. Lots of people who work immediately around the area, as well as students (your typical workday crowd) patronized the place. Coming from Los Angeles for vacation, I did notice that I was the only one without a stack of papers, laptops or a backpack that morning. In a way, I was happy I was the only one without worry about work or studying and sat around observing the New Orleans/Southern style architecture here at this Starbucks. And, as is the beauty of franchises: you get a consistent product no matter where you are, and the hazelnut macchiato here was no exception and tasted as fine as anywhere else. The baristas here provided a high level of customer service, as I noticed that they were keeping busy sweeping the floors in the main dining room area when there was finally a lull in the queue. In a separate incident, one of them didn't flinch or give a weird look at a patron who returned a partially drunk coffee. In fact, they were really happy about replacing the drink. The patron may or may not have realized that it was not to her liking until about halfway through, and most people, if they were in the barista's shoes would probably have made a look, gossip later or show a hint of attitude. None here...and I was impressed at the restraint and professionalism. The setup of this particular Starbucks is elongated. The front desk is parallel to Washington Street (the long side of the rectangle shape of the coffee house's layout). There's a bit of an issue with seating arrangements inside because it gets pretty narrow as you walk towards the rear of the store (as if you're walking down the store with Washington Street to your right). If it gets a bit too claustrophobic for you, you can always do what many others did that day and take a seat outside. Thankfully, I like to think I brought the California weather with me that week, so it was totally enjoyable to actually sit outside in a typically hot and humid time of year.

Expanded seating in the rear. Sweet!!! I love this place!!!! Ambience. Nice staff. Ample parking. Swift Barristas. Spacious restrooms. A plethora of sitting/studying area. Actually, I do believe this place is a meeting spot FIRST and a coffee shop SECOND, no really!!!!! I see sooooo many people and when I people watch, this is also the case. And being in the Irish Channel - Magnificent Magazine Area... I mean what more can you ask for??? I love it. You can study or meet or just chill. This is my FAVVVVVV Starbucks in the GNO Area. Woooo Hooooo!!!!! See ya there!!!!

Headed out on my morning walk with my mother as always we were in search for a Starbucks. Opening our search on our Starbucks app we saw the magazine st. location! Excitement! We decided a good 3 miles was just what we needed to receive the deserving coffee taste that only Starbucks could provide. When we arrived and prepared our Starbucks card app we noticed how huge it was! Beautiful outdoor seating and comfy chairs and tables for the masses. Everyone is so friendly here!! And my mother not a fan of public restrooms came back with a great report, not only were they clean but they were big! Two thumbs up for that! We grabbed our breakfast muffins and warm tall coffees and headed outside to enjoy the crisp morning air. Where everyone greeted us with a morning salutation! We will definitely be incorporating this Starbucks in our daily walks when in Louisiana! Thank you!

Most people don't like change and there is a feeling of security by knowing what to expect before you even buy something. This is why this Starbucks is so popular. You have all these great little coffee shops all over this city and yet Starbucks still gets people in here. My only guess is that most of their costumers just moved into town and that they are afraid of trying someplace new or local. They are comfortable paying $8 for a coffee that they have had back home in NYC or LA for $11. No one, costumers nor staff, seem happy to be there. No one looks each other in the eye nor attempt to make small talk. Maybe they are pissed about having to pay $8 for a coffee. You won't get this type of experience at local coffee shops.

I LOVE starbucks. It's like home to me. I still enjoy local coffee shops and frequent them, but I always go to a Starbucks when I want to know exactly what I'm getting. This Starbucks is beautiful and large, with tons of seating. I'm really disappointed in the service I receive here though! I often come in at 530am on my way to work and everyone working is moving so slow. I understand it's early, but if customers are coming in at that time they're probably in a hurry to get to work or something so it shouldn't take 5 minutes to order and get rung up for a grande coffee. I've also gone in on the weekends where the staff has been having extremely loud, long conversations with each other and never looked or spoke to the customers. In between loudly talking to each other about how late they were for work etc the cashier said only "what can I get you" without even making eye contact. The line grew to 14 people while I was waiting for my drink, and the barista forgot to give the girl ahead of me her water 3 different times. I hope that the service gets better because it's a shame to have such a nice store in such a great location ruined by staff that just doesn't care about their clientele. Side note - this location doesn't have the yogurt parfaits or any fresh fruit like a lot of the other locations in the country do. Not sure if it's like this in all Nola locations or just this one.

Okay, I downgraded my stars to two. One for location/building and one for a consistent product. Zero stars for service! The guy that was friendly and singing must have been beaten down by the sour puss employees that now work here. I get it! I'm not a morning person either; however, if you're in the service industry and plan on staying there, you might want to kick it up a notch. Now, even though the service is subpar at best, it's the product I go for. It's consistent and fresh and I have found few local establishments that can compare. I've had latte/coffee products and CC's and PJ's and it was the worst cup I've ever had. Except CC's in Old Metairie... They have an awesome iced pumpkin pie latte! Previous Review: They are always so friendly here. This morning the barista was singing and very enthusiastic. I'm not a morning person and was struggling to get going today. He helped me start my day off right with a perfectly made pumpkin spice latte and a kind word. I love this Starbucks location. It has charm and the building has that "old" feel.

Reading other reviewer's reviews on this place confirms my experience tonight, that the service has gone downhill at this particular location. I have been a Starbucks customer for over a decade and all over the country (and a few places overseas) and have NEVER been treated so rudely by an employee. I wasn't watching the clock (though clearly they were) and was yelled at that "Sir, its 10 o'clock and I'm locking the door!" Really? Was that a threat to lock me in or a euphemism for "get the F*&^ out." I'll go with both. I worked as a barista at Sbucks years ago and they trained us to professional and courteous and quick to please, not treat customers like mangy dogs. The staff there needs to 1. Do a better job at hiring employees who care about thier customer service and 2. Do a better job at training to be customer service orientated. The higher ups at Starbucks went through a lot of trouble to train and maintain high quality standards years ago because sales were dropping, and history is going to repeat itself if this crap keeps up.

This Starbucks is in a quirky part of town on Magazine Street and upholds the normal Starbucks standards. Customer service is pretty spot on and they have a pretty large seating area. Not a lot of locals hanging out there all day but a few, but more like in a college-y sort of way and not an annoying hipster sort of way. All in all pretty nice.

At least this location got my latte correct..... I always my coffee at Starbucks if they make what I order.....

  • Donks G.

They usually are pretty good but on some nights I guess when the staff is tired they decide to close early and start turning people away from the door at 9:46 pm even though the Starbucks App says they are open and the sign outside of the store says they close at 10:00 pm but the employees have locked the door are sweeping the floors and when you knock they roll their eyes and just sign the store is closed but there is no advance warning or sign that says this particular store will close early tonight. Just go there an hour after they open or an hour before they close to make sure you don't get turned away from the door.

Better than Maple Street S'bucks because it has more seating and A LOT more parking. This location has many more regular customers who are not students. Plus it's on Magazine Street which is fun and convenient. Personnel here are extremely consciencious. I forgot my computer power cable here once and they had it all wrapped up in a nice little package for when I sheepishly stopped back in to retrieve it. Store workers informed me that a store remodel is in the plans.

Coming from the Northeast, I can't believe there are so few Starbucks locations in Nola! I believe there's only two! This one on Magazine has a great parking lot. Plus, there are so many plush comfy seats, tables for working, and they always make my drink just right.

  • Erin W.

Pros: It's a Starbucks. Nice seating in the back and outside. They appear to have brought in some new baristas that are a little more on top of things. My dad buys me starbucks gift cards. Cons: Close to the worst starbucks I've been too. They are consistently slow and have messed up or forgotten my drinks several times. Call me a coffee snob, but they always let my shots sit for a long time before adding the milk to my latte, resulting in a bitter drink. (Starbuck's "policy" is to never let a shot sit more than 10 seconds--the layers combine and it goes bitter). I'm used to west coast starbucks, and the drinks definitely taste different here.

We were exploring Magazine street and needed something to drink. Thank goodness there is always a Starbucks somewhere! This Starbucks was huge. Super spacious! Lots of seating and even included comfy couch chairs! The big plus was the free wifi because I was having trouble accessing the wifi at my hotel. Service was fast too!

Good location. I was stoked to see they had a parking lot with lots of open spaces. I walked in and it was very busy but they were getting everyone through really quickly, which was great. I ordered my usual green tea no sugar. I then asked for the spinach, feta wrap but the employee informed me their oven wasn't working. This was such a bummer to me. I was really looking forward to eating that. My drink came up very quickly and there was a lot of open seating available, thank goodness. My second choice for food would have been the multi-grain bagel with cream cheese, they don't even offer the mulit-grain bagel, another bummer. Therefore I am still deciding what to eat for breakfast but I will figure something out. Kind of a disappointment but there are worse things that happen in life so it's all good. I will be alright.

My favorite Starbucks in the city! The location offers a good amount of street parking and the inside is long and narrow with plenty of room and seating. The baristas have always been really friendly, and even when it is really busy, the line seems to move pretty quick. Oh, Starbucks..those neat little drink stoppers are great. I no longer splash coffee all over my cup holder when I hit bumpy streets and potholes! Love it!!!!!

Like any chain establishment, for the most part a Starbucks is a Starbucks. I like this location because there is ample parking, both in the small lot behind the store (enter on Washington) and available on the street. There is also ample seating both indoors and outdoors. The indoor seating area has a variety of chairs, couches, and tables and the outdoor seating area has chairs and tables with umbrellas. The service is usually quick and of course there is free wi-fi. Unlike some of the other local coffee shops, it doesn't seem that people linger too long. Of course there are people studying, reading, working on laptops, etc., but I feel like they only stay for an hour or so instead of for the entire day.

  • Katie T.

Guess Starbucks is okay if I can't get to a CC's or if I am with someone who's regular spot is Starbucks. I'll go for a mocha frap, it's not too bad. Can't really say too much about it though since that is all I ever get and I am more of a local coffee kind of girl. Sorry Starbucks, know you have some loyal fans.

  • Lynn P.

This used to be my favorite coffee shop. However, in the past couple of years the service has gone down tremendously. I still like the coffee, but whenever I walk in it looks like I'm bothering the cashier and the employees rather talk than make my coffee.

I was cued to revise my review of sbux due to reading a past review I had written of it. I posted that their pastries etc were superior to the competition down the street. Well, the competition down the street must have changed their vendor because now they are on an equal playing field when referring to food selection. However, I still find the customer service second rate to the "competition." the only reason I utilize this sbux is because I don't feel like walking my venti American ass a little bit further to the competition. I'm a lazy bitch some days.

The better of the two uptown starbucks locations. This long, narrow starbucks has more seating than the maple street location. In all other aspects, it is a completely typical starbucks. How can there be any difference? All the drinks are made by machines anyway.

Starbucks is good. It is always reliable and I can get my iced late just right no matter where i am. Some indie coffee shops can't pull an expresso shot to save their lives and this is something i do not have to worry about with Starbucks.

Thank you!

One of my favorite locations and a quiet neighborhood. Good place for studying and drinking coffee.
